Description

1 Oct. 2026. PRE-ORDER NOW

It’s 2003 and Colin and his best friend Eugénie are—like every other teenager in Sainte-Foy—waiting for the bus, hanging out at the mall, logging onto MSN, working weekend shifts, steering clear of their parents, and trying not to be rejects as they navigate their school’s social hierarchies. Colin has two secrets: he’s obsessed with Céline Dion, and he likes a classmate, Yann. To be or not to be fake; for Colin, that is the question, and his heart wavers somewhere between silence, obfuscation, and truth. Whimsical and provocative, It’s All Coming Back to Me Now is a heartfelt and timeless coming-of-age story.

Originally from Quebec City, Jean-Michel Fortier studied literature at Université Laval and film at Université de Montréal. The winner of the French Voices Award for the translation of Annie Ernaux’s Things Seen (La vie extérieure), he recently translated the libretto for an opera by Hélène Dorion and Marie-Claire Blais: Yourcenar: une île de passions. Reviews and Praise

“Poignant and hilarious, often on the same page, It’s All Coming Back to Me Now is a the first-person coming-of-age novel of a most touching initiatory quest, a vibrant hymn to adolescence, to its great joys as well as its worst torments.” – Christian Saint-Pierre, Le Devoir
